EU funds utilization for energy projects in Bulgaria (2007-2008)

The project implementation is funded by the World Bank and the EU Structural Funds and covers analysis of the possibilities for BEEF capitalization including the following activities:

• Identification of the operating mechanism for additional capitalization of the fund through the EU Structural Funds, including the development of an action plan;
• An overview of the development of the gas network and gas distribution areas;
• Update of the list of municipalities that are eligible beneficiaries under OP “Regional development”, Operation 2.3 Access to sustainable and efficient energy resources, i.e. municipalities that are not included in the gas distribution regions and have no license for gas distribution and
• Development of criteria for selection of projects under Operation 2.3.
